Hi! I’m Canadian driver. I’m pedestrian. I’m cyclist. I’m loving spouse, parent, kid, relative and friend. I’m inhabitant of this beautiful country, Ontario and GTA. I want to be safe on the roads where I live. I want all people to be safe, confident, responsible and respectful of each other on the roads.
I often get upset and sometimes scared seeing how people drive:
- Cutting lanes
- Excessive speeding and racing
- Using highway exit/entry lines to pass traffic on the right
- Running red traffic lights and stop signs
- Using cell phones, typing messages even on highway
- Not yielding to pedestrians and cyclists
- Insane honking and gestures
- Violating traffic signs and road markings
- Opening doors when another vehicle/cyclist passing
- Stopping on intersections obstructing traffic
- Not giving signals for maneuvers
- Following too close
All traffic violations are potential cause of accidents, injuries and deaths. Most of traffic violations and improper behavior adds stress and often distracts other road users which cause more mistakes and accidents.
Using roads by drivers, cyclists and pedestrians is a privilege, not a right. To use this privilege participants must obey rules and be respectful to each other.
Every driver is paying higher price for traffic violations, improper behavior and accidents caused by irresponsible drivers. It’s auto insurance premium which is enormous in Canada especially in Ontario and GTA.
